Raise The Dead
by Daniel Brouse; November, 2010

Raise The Dead .MP3 (live 1-track stereo recording)

An attempt at scribing for the spirits.

instrumentation:
* Ibanez electric 6-string with tremolo, tapped, plucked, fingered, scratched and bowed; BossBR-600 Effect GTR P07 St Wack, Capo 3
* Fiddle bow
* Casio wk-3500, Epic Ballad; MiniKorg midi patch autosets

vocals: headset through a DigiTech RP3 #93 and an open air Senneiser Evolution microphone

Basically the Eb chord if your instrument is in the key of C

Should you be playing a trumpet in the key of Bb... that would be holding the middle key down for a B

Guitar tapping... helps if you capo 3 (should you want to play keyboards, bugle and/or use the fiddle bow at the same time)

Select quotes from the Book of Daniel, Chapter 12 -- *Prophecy of the End Time*

Intro:
Bugle starts off playing Taps
While guitarist *taps* the guitar

You're gonna raise the dead
Playing music like that

She said,
"This song's 'bout my son"
I meant no disrespect
I heard what you said
"My son is dead"

“At that time...
... of trouble
Your people
Shall be delivered.
And many of those who sleep
In the dust of the earth
Shall awake."

Raise the dead
May my spirit
Raise the dead
I can hear it
Raise the dead
Not just inside my head

May we shine
The brightness of the firmament
May we shine
The brightness of the fulfillment

She said,
"That's my girl
I don't know who you are
But, you better be special"
You said,
"That's Daniel."

[spoken word to bugle and Krista tapping... add pagpipe interweave Amazing Grace ]
"Those who are wise shall shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness
Like the stars forever and ever."
And many of those who sleep
In the dust of the earth
Shall awake."
[end spoken word]

Raise the dead
May my spirit
Raise the dead
I can hear it
Raise the dead
Not just inside my head

May we shine
The brightness of the firmament
May we shine
The brightness of the fulfillment
At this time
Your people
Shall be delivered.

Note: When I was a child, we were banned from playing Taps on the streets. They said we would raise the dead.
